MHC invites to a Press Conference entitled "Specific nature and particularities of case „Moisei v. Moldova” won by the representatives of MHC in the European Court of Human Rights.  

The Conference will be held on December 21st, at 10.00 o'clock, within the headquarters of MHC, 63 M. Eminescu St.

MHC held a  Press Conference regarding the situation of Antena C and Euro TV Chisinau.

25 observers of MHC, on voluntary basis, had participated in monitoring of the elections held on December 3rd, 2006 of the Bashkan of Gagauz-Yeri.  

MHC was asked by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova to give its opinion towards the modification of the Criminal Code of the RM, in order to fulfill it with the human rights standards and the ratification process of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. Within the elaboration of this opinion, there had been participated the experts of MHC and other independent specialists in criminal law. 

The Council of Administration of MHC had elected Mr. Teodor CARNAT, PhD in law, associate professor, for the position of Executive Director of MHC.

The Moldovan Helsinki Committee had organized a Press Conference which took place in conference hall  „INFOTAG”, at 10:00 AM.

Conference topic: Aggression on March 14th, 2006,  of  an observer of the Moldovan Helsinki Committee  (on the administrative case law, Mrs. A. Misina) in front of the headquarter of the Judicial Court of Tiraspol city, by the workers of so-called ministry of national security from the moldavian dnester republic. 

At this conference was stated the attitude of the representatives of civil society towards the attempts of the Republic of Moldova and the Ukraine to settle the goods transit on Transnistrian segment of Mold-Ukrainian boundary and the attitude of the non-governmental organizations , which within the session from March 11th, 2006 had discussed the decree on prohibition of foreign financing of non-commercial organizations.

The Committee asks for the involvement of the International Bodies upon the situation of the NGOs from Transnistria, which are more often pressed by the Transnistrian "authorities", because of being more actively involved in monitoring  the human rights violations

Press Conference

Had been inaugurated the Regional Center in Rezina city of Education and Promoting Human Rights organized by the Moldovan Helsinki Committee for Human Rights (MHC), Amnesty International Moldova, League for the Defense of Human Rights and  The Independent Society for Education and Human Rights (SIEDO) 

The Committee organized a Press Conference in the office of Press Agency INFOTAG, that was dedicated to the information about 100 detainees of OSC 29/8; the penal action was gained by the Committee defending the rights of these.

The Committee is monitoring the situation round about the proposed project by Russian Federation in order to resolve the Transnistrean conflict by federalizing the Republic of Moldova and the way in which the State respects human rights besides the manifestations that protest against the project.
